Happy New Year!
January 26,2025. Wow! Do you remember when we first met? I know I do.
I should probably give you a recap of November- December 2024, so here it goes. My beautiful friend and photographer Chamela Martinez came to visit me in November and she took such beautiful photos of me and my home. She is such a light and breath of fresh air. Her talent never fails to amaze me. My best friend Alyssa also came to visit me and that was such a funny and joyful memory. Lets just say I was sick the whole time but our friendship is always a cure to any issue in my life.
I finished my second semester of my second year of dental school on December 20th. I celebrated my 25th birthday on December 29th, and on December 30th through January 5th I was enjoying the warm sun in the Dominican Republic with my family and my boyfriend. A memory I will keep forever, and so many photos to cherish and share with our future children. I can't complain can I?
Now fast forward to January 2025...Here I am back in school and with a schedule that is very intimidating. Not to mention that I am very busy with research this semester, I am also preparing to enter clinic in May! Visit me in Detroit if you'd like to be a patient of mine, full disclosure, I am very nervous to have my first patient.
Now that we got all the logistics out the way lets talk about my goals for 2025! I recently started a 30 day challenge with my best friends and it is going very well! I also want to try again this year and read two books a month. I figured I can turn this blog into a monthly book club and monthly movie review. I've had so many movies I've wanted to watch in mind and I can't wait to watch them all.
The book I read this month is called An American Marriage and boy did it make me cry. I probably am just an emotional person but the storyline really made me wonder. If you are looking for a book that will keep you company I would recommend this read. The book I am currently reading is called What We Talk About When We Talk About Love. The title alone pulled me in, but the series of short stories are so beautifully written it makes me want to smile and cry all at once. I think we tend to forget the love that is hidden behind everyday scenarios.
Enjoy some photos taken by my talented and sweet friend Chamela Martinez!
