"Among all the people you know, how many do you understand"(House of Hummingbird). I watched a movie today called House of Hummingbird, It was a mirror I needed to face. It is a Korean film and I think I am in love with Korean directors. They have the ability to capture the sound of silence so well. The unspoken truth comes alive from the posture of the character, or a glance hidden between the scenes. I recommend this movie to people who feel like there is a hidden message in their life that so desperately wants to be opened or sent.
The film follows the story of a young middle school girl who encounters multiple life-changing events whilst being a student. Family dynamics and love interests become one overwhelming adventure. I loved the way love was found and lost, yet remembered. Please watch this film if you want to watch an episode of your life. If you’re looking for something that will make you confused yet in awe, watch the movie Burning. It is one of my favorite movies.
