Hey Guys! I hope you all enjoyed my last blog post about the SHPEP internship! In this post I want to talk about how I decorated my room this semester! As you can see I am currently living in a single and it is probably the best decision I have ever made. I feel so at peace and at ease. I really wanted to keep the colors neutral and have a calming sensation whenever I walked into the room. I also have been trying to be a minimalist and only keep the things I need. I emptied out all of my drawers and went through everything, it really helped me determine what I needed or not. I feel like this really gave me relief, from whatever stress being a clothes hoarder was giving me. With keeping my room simple, I noticed that it became more of a study room than a chill room, which I personally enjoy. I often struggled with not being able to get work done in my room because of how cozy it was. This semester I definitely see myself studying in my room, and still having comfort to relax.

ROOM DETAILS

Now to get into detail about each piece. For my closet I ordered cubbies from Amazon to keep my extra necessities away from plain view, and create a more clean look. My hangers are grey and are from target. I really wanted every color in the room to coordinate. My map was also purchased from Amazon.

BEDDING

In addition to the hangers, I also got my fairy lights from target as well. I wanted to create an accent, since most of my room is very solid brown/tan colors. My bedding, which is extremely affordable and simple, is from Marshall's, the decorative pillow was also included in the set. My cute teddy bear was gifted :).

DESK

Moving on to my desk, I purchased everything on the top row from Amazon, including the mirror on the bottom row. My pencil holder is from target, and originally a toothbrush holder! My ring holder is from Muji, and my books are from Marshall's. The blanket on my chair was a handmade gift from a loved one :)

SIDE TABLE

For my side table, I wanted a very relaxing and simple design. I went with two decorative succulents from Amazon, and a very beautiful diffuser, also from Amazon. The diffuser has light settings that change periodically, so it really gives my room a glow.
